Ok, so once you have signed up a keyword level call tracking service, what happens next?
We can only speak about AdTraka but most systems work in the same way, it’s just the accuracy, amount of data and bells and whistles they provide that differs.
First things first, you will need AdTraka installed.
When you signed up for AdTraka you will have received two snippers of code in your welcome email.
The first is the header script, this is to go into the header section of each page that you wish to track. The second is the number snippet, which should go around each instance of a phone number on your web pages.
That done, you are up an running with AdTraka. How AdTraka call tracking works now is fairly simple.
The piece of code that you have placed in the header grabs all the web visitors search data, it sends this over to the AdTraka server, where it is saved.
The AdTraka server sends back the next available number.
The header script then replaces the number wrappers with this phone number.
If this number is then called – we know exactly which visitor called you – and all their search data!
